The purpose of a credential certificate in any profession is to both protect the public and to guarantee that a person who holds the credential has met a minimum standard for professional and ethical standards. In medical transcription, this is no different. Those individuals who have passed the credentialing examinations for the profession have exhibited that they have met those standards of practice. Credentials also speak to a commitment to the profession and a commitment to ongoing continuing education to maintain them.

At TRSi, all of our instructors hold the Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT) credential from AHDI and have received their certification. In addition, others hold the AHDI-F (Fellow of the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity). This assures students that their instruction team has met those high standards of practice.

Because we believe credentialing is important, all successful graduates of TRS Institute are expected to take the Registered Medical Transcriptionist (RMT) exam offered by AHDI. This exam tests core knowledge for the profession. As a benefit of your program with TRS Institute, the RMT Prep Course fees are included for you upon successful completion of your program!

A medical transcription certificate from TRSi validates completion of our comprehensive 12-month training program. The certificate demonstrates a person’s ability to commit and follow through with important endeavors. More importantly, it provides assurance to potential employers that the medical transcriptionist applicant has received a high quality training from an AHDI-approved institution.
