The Importance of Certificate

Why Certify?

The purpose of a credential certificate in any profession is to protect the public, that is, to guarantee the public that a person who hold the credential has met a minimum standard for professional and ethical standards. In medical transcription, this is no different. Those individuals who have passed the credentialing examinations for the profession have exhibited that they have met those standards of practice. Credentials also speak to a commitment to the profession and a commitment to ongoing continuing education to maintain them.

Credentials and TRS Institute

As an employer. TRS Institute values the credentials of our profession. All of our instructors hold the Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT) credential from the American Association for Medical Transcription. In addition, others hold the FAAMT (Fellow of the American Association for Medical Transcription). This assures students that their instruction team has met those high standards of practice.

Credentialing and Graduation

Because we believe credentialing is important, all successful graduates of TRS Institute are expected to take the Registered Medical Transcriptionist (RMT) exam offered by AAMT. This exam tests core knowledge for the profession. As a benefit of your program with TRS Institute, the RMT Prep Course fees are included for you upon successful completion of your program!
